TLC Aged Care is soaring to new heights with its newest development on the fringe of Melbourne’s CBD. High-rise residential aged care has been discussed in the industry for many years, with several retirement living developments integrating aged care services. But to date, few are dedicated to residential aged care. The construction of TLC Aged Care’s 10-storey facility on the fringe of the Melbourne CBD is changing that.
TLC Healthcare is one of Victoria’s largest integrated healthcare providers with residential aged care at its core. TLC owns and operates community medical centres that are conveniently co-located with their residential aged care homes. With facilities across Melbourne and the Geelong region, TLC‘s mission is to be leaders in innovative and integrated healthcare renowned for providing wellbeing to their communities. The organisation’s core values are respect, accountability, excellence, collaboration, integrity and innovation. In this interview, CEO Lou Pascuzzi talks about their innovative approach in their services, focusing on the integration of primary care into residential aged care.
TLC Healthcare has contracted Ireland Brown Constructions and principal consultants Baldasso Cortese to build and manage its $24 million Homestead Estate redevelopment in Wallington, near Geelong.
The upgrade of Homestead Estate, which was TLC group’s first residential facility, involves combining the existing homes into one location and adding an additional 125 beds to create a 260-bed facility.
A $24 million Wallington redevelopment to deliver new jobs at Victoria’s largest aged care facility will begin in August, its proponent has announced. The project, at Homestead Estate, was now scheduled for completion in 2018 after TLC Healthcare awarded contracts to builder Ireland Brown Constructions and principal consultant Baldasso Cortese, the operator said.
